Writter A_

As a new agent with your State Department of Homeland Security, your supervisor has asked you to familiarize yourself with policies implemented post-9/11. This includes the recommendations made by the 9/11 Committee to increase communication across America. To assist you, your supervisor has asked you and a few other agents to develop a new policy adhering to the information set out in the USA PATRIOT Act to increase communication. Your policy proposal will be presented at the upcoming national conference. The group will develop a policy proposal specifically addressing the line of communication that needs to occur if a terrorist act is committed within the state. Also, include in the policy what will occur in terms of first responders. That includes evacuation procedures, the use of command centers, and specific tactics. Each agent will write the specific portion of the policy as determined by the group leader. Be sure to provide specific language from the USA PATRIOT Act itself and the rationale for the implementation of material. This will need to be supported by library research. The individual portions will be used to develop a final proposal for the conference

Buffalo Case StudyA Case of Rodent Speciation Background As an expert in the field of mammalian reproductive strategies, you have been hired by the Department of Nature and Island Resources of the West Indies. This organization is a cooperative of several West Indies islands concerned with the loss of biological diversity on their island nations as tourism and development continue to grow. Scientists working on the island of St. Kitts and its sister island Nevis have uncovered what appears to be a previously undiscovered species of rodent. Based on the original description of this animal, it was placed in a genus within the squirrel family. What you have been hired to do is to help save the population on St. Kitts, which is small and threatened by development. The population is so small that individuals are having difficulty finding mates and, in many cases, the reproductive seasons are being delayed by up to one year. When you arrive in the region and begin your observations, you notice that the Nevis population is very healthy and could be used as stock for the recovery operation that you plan on the island of St. Kitts. In your  recovery  plan,  you  bring  animals  from Nevis into the population on St. Kitts to bolster the population numbers, ensure the availability of mates, and increase the genetic diversity within the shrinking population. As a good scientist, you observe the reproductive behaviors of this animal in the field to ensure the success of your program. Within a very short time, you realize that your plan is failing. In the 240 attempts to bring a Nevis animal into the St. Kitts population, you are unable to observe a single successful reproductive event. Although these animals look identical, you are concerned that they are two distinct species. Your focus now becomes identifying the differences between the two populations. What follows is a brief review of the data you collected from your study.   St. Kitts RodentNevis RodentAverage weight: 83gAverage weight: 86gAverage length: 21.8cmAverage length: 23.3cmAverage hind limb: 7.8cmAverage hind limb: 4.2cmAverage forelimb: 4.2cmAverage forelimb: 3.9cmTop speed: 2.2 meters/second (m/s)Top speed: 0.8m/sAverage leap height: 1.4mAverage leap height: 0.4mAverage gestation time: 29.3 daysAverage gestation time: 42.7 daysAverage time spent in courtship display: 12.6 secondsAverage time spent in courtship display: 21.3 seconds AssignmentThis case study describes a recovery program for a rodent population on the island of St. Kitts in theCaribbean. After reading the case study above, your job is to formulate your own story incorporating someof the details and data provided while also drawing on several evolutionary concepts studied in class. A list ofthese concepts can be found at the end of this document. There are no limitations on the details you can incorporate into your story, but it should follow some specific guidelines. Your story:1.Should be 600 words or less.2.Should incorporate the data supplied in the case study.3.Should incorporate at least three of the concepts from the “Concept List.” As you incorporate eachconcept, you must demonstrate its relevance to your story.4.Can be told in any form. For instance, one student presented the story as field notes collected fromobserving the animals in their natural habitat. Another student presented the story as a series ofexperiments and observations made by groups of scientists over hundreds of years. Be creative.5.Should account for the data on the organisms provided in the case study. It is acceptable to add moredata as you develop your story as long as it fits into the patterns of the data provided.6.Can include graphics and illustrations. Be sure to cite the source and give credit for the material, including material taken from the Internet. Avoid plagiarism.7.Should include a scientific and common name* (see Note below) for the rodent populations. In developing these names, make sure you use the rules for binomial classification. In addition, make sure that you put the rodents into an existing genus. You come up with the species names.8.Needs a good title.9.Proof read. Check for spelling errors. Make sure your sentences are grammatically correct and that they are complete sentences.  Remember that you are developing an evolutionary picture of a rodent population using data suppliedwith the case study. Keep in mind that in an evolutionary story you will be describing events that may haveoccurred over very long time periods. Important: When incorporating concepts from the “Concept List” into your story, you must elaborate on how they relate to your story. Simply including a concept word in your assignment is not acceptable. For example, stating that “the animals became two species because of genetic drift” is not sufficient. You must also explain how genetic drift works in this process.

Assignment 1 for Criminal Justice

Addresses course outcomes 2 and 3:                   Topic:   In the third week of class, each student will be assigned to study one of the six problems – global warming, tropical deforestation, invasive species, acid rain, loss of biodiversity, and nutrient pollution. Using information at least 3 sources of information (book, magazine, journal, or reputable website), each student will complete a brief 1-2 page report (single space) to submit to the Environmental Problems Conference by 11:59 P.M. by 31 July.  Encyclopedias such as Wikipedia only count as one reference.  Cite references where appropriate within the report. The report will include information on (1) the ecological nature of the problem, (2) possible solutions, and (3) list of references. Section (3) bibliography should include author, date, title, and sufficient source information that would allow me to look it up. Reputable websites include those created by scientific organizations or major news organizations. Avoid commercial websites that are trying to sell something or advocacy websites that promote one point of view. The report should be in your own words and not include cut & paste passages from websites. The Environmental Problems Report should be submitted directly into the conference, single spaced and not as an attachment. Further details of this assignment will be posted in the third week of the course.  Environmental Problems Discussion:  During 1-4 August, each student will provide meaningful feedback on a minimum of three topics (other than assigned report topic) to the environmental problems reports by discussing the pros and cons of the solutions or suggest new solutions. Entries must be more than simple agreement/ disagreement. Grading: This assignment is worth 50 points. You must submit BOTH the report by Sunday 31 July July and participate in the discussion by Thursday 4 August or your score may be 0.

After reading the textbook, specifically state why you are interested in conducting further research on this key term (i.e., academic curiosity, application to a current issue related to employment, or any other professional rationale). Be sure to include a substantive reason, not simply a phrase.    This is a clear and concise overview of the essentials relevant to understanding this key concept.    Using your own words, provide a clear and concise summary of the article, including the major points and conclusions.    In your own words, discuss each of the following points:     A minimum of (not textbooks, Wikipedia, nor other popular reading magazines) in current APA format is required, and the references must contain persistent links so others may have instant access. In the event formatting is lost or corrupted when posting the thread to the Discussion Board Forum, be sure to attach the Word document to your posting as evidence that your work was completed in the proper format. Access the following Liberty University Library link for instructions on creating persistent links:     Additionally, you will be required to post a written reply to at least 2 other students\’ Discussion Board Forum threads. Thus, you will post 1 written thread concerning your key term, and you will then post substantive written replies to at least 2 other students’ threads. Exceeding the threshold requirement (minimum required substantive postings) will result in a higher score while posting the minimum number of required substantive postings will result in a minimal passing score. This means that, if you post 2 good substantive replies, you can expect a grade of “B-” and, if you post 3 or more quality substantive replies, you can earn an “A-.”   Submit Part 3 by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the same modules/weeks.
