The project is due and will be presented in class. Each student will execute a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation to the entire class. You are to present the topic you choose earlier in the semester and should have been gathering articles from the New York Times for your supporting data and information. After the presentation, a classmate or two may ask a question, so be ready!
Here is what the presentation must include:
1.10 PowerPoint slides each one is to remain on the screen for 1 minute and remember the tips provided on how to give a good presentation.
2.Of the 10 slides, at least 5 should have animation on them. This can include the text swiping on and off the page, a video, a sound bit, a piece of artwork that swipes on or off the page.
3.Be careful with the colors you choose for backgrounds and the text. Remember the lesson on color use.
4.If you quote someone or use information from a source other than the New York Times, be sure to include the source at the bottom of that given slide in small type. Remember that in order not to plagiarize you have to document your sources.
5.If your presentation allows for information to be presented in a chart or graph, use that as a source to present your information.
6.Use photos when you can. For this presentation, its ok to copy them off the Internet, but if this were being done in a real work situation, you would most likely be gathering the photos off of a paid subscription website, or using company approved, or company photography.
Be sure to provide Prof. with a printout of the slides the day of the presentation.

List some general principles of subject selection in usability testing.

One argument against the current interface design of a popular word processor program (such as Microsoft Word 2013) is that it has all the functional menu items appearing together which cause the interface to be too complex. This complexity results in a confusing and frustrating experience for novice users. An alternative design is to provide different levels of functional complexity, so users can choose the level that is suitable for them, then advance to higher level as they get familiar with the tool, thus feel more comfortable and learn more efficiently. You are asked to conduct usability testing to compare these two designs.Write a  paper explaining which type of usability testing should be used for this situation.  List some general principles of subject selection in usability testing.  How should you select subjects for this case?

Identify and explain one key strategy from each company that the company explicitly discussed in the annual report.

Identify and comment on the differences you see. You may not know why a particular cost item like COGS is higher or lower, but your CEO only seems interested in knowing which cost structure items are higher or lower for each company.  3)  Inventory Management  • Who has more inventory in terms of days of inventory last year?  • What are their respective 3-year trends for days of inventory?  • What does FIFO/LIFO mean, and which accounting approach does each of the companies use to value their inventory? (The accounting approach can be found in the Notes section.) 4) Cash is King • How much net cash from operations did each company generate last year? • In laymen\’s terms, how is each company spending their cash with respect to reinvestments in the business, changes in debt, and returning money to shareholders?  5) Liquidity • How is the current ratio calculated?  • How do the companies compare in terms of the current ratio, and what are their respective 3-year trends?  • Does their current ratio indicate that either (or both) of these companies could go bankrupt soon? Explain.
