In the lecture attached we are now introduced to the topic of self-esteem and self enhancement….and included in this, the topic of self-aggrandizement, narcissism and entitlement. Viewing this with an eye on culture, what might you say about the differences between a collectivist vs. an individualistic society? An added element to this is really happiness….what makes a person and a culture happy, content, feeling safe and valued? Maslow certainly could be included in this discussion. Conversely, and related to Maslow, what might make a culture unhappy, insecure and undervalued?
