Meeting Expectations at Work.

Meeting Expectations at Work
COLLAPSE
Employers expect employees to be on time to monitor their punctuality. They want to know and trust that their employees are responsible. They also want to ensure that employees are not stealing company time. For retail companies, store managers/supervisors have a set amount of hours for the week that they can\’t exceed which can lead to their store being audited. In addition, lateness or over-time can also lead to audits.

I believe that time management is key to being punctual. I recommend that employees give themselves enough time to get ready in the morning and leave their homes at a reasonable time either to avoid traffic or to take public transportation. I also recommend employees to call their employer if they\’re going to be late. I believe being punctual is a good reflection on an individual because it shows that you\’re responsible and you care about the workplace. It also leaves room for a positive reference for future employers.

On the success quiz, I received a 19 out of 100. The results were pretty accurate. I tend to set challenging but realistic goals for myself. I\’m not afraid to make mistakes or starting over. I believe that failure is inevitable and a common part of success.

Week 2
COLLAPSE

Hello Everyone,

Punctuality is very important for the workplace.

Why an employer needs an employee to be on time.

Being punctual shows youre responsible, your dedicated commitment to your job and your respect for others. Being late to work constantly, not only affects the employee but can also affect the team as a whole. Employers need employees to be punctual so that the workplace operates smoothly and can be productive. For instance, when everyone is punctual to a meeting, the meeting can start on time and therefore productive.

Describe how an employee could learn to be on time for work.

As an employee you should make every effort to be on time, tardiness is understandable to a certain extent as a result of an unforeseen circumstance. If an employee is constantly late, perhaps they should change their habits/routine. They should plan ahead e.g. set your clothes out the night before, keep all your essential such as keys, purse, in one spot so that you are not scrambling last minute. Set your clock ahead by 10 minutes (visualize perception). Set reminders on your phone and dont overbook, give yourself enough cushion just in case something unexpected such as traffic happens.

Add comments about the benefits of being punctual and regular in job attendance.

Punctuality can help achieve advancement within the workplace, it projects a sense of professionalism and commitment. It establishes a sense of trust from your leaders and peers.

Success Test Results

Fear of success/Success avoidance
18

According to your score, you seem to have no fear of success. When opportunities come your way, you rarely, if ever, hesitate to jump on them, even if this means you\’ll be taking on extra responsibilities. When climbing the ladder of success, you forge ahead without hesitation, giving it your all. Although fear of success may seem like an odd concept, it\’s actually fairly common. People who fear success will often sabotage their chances for it and can become underachievers. You, however, possess a very healthy attitude when it comes to success.
