The Journal Article Assignment is an opportunity for you to become familiar with finding a professional journal article on a topic of your choice and becoming more familiar with empirical research. For a research article to be considered empirical, it is based on evidence or data collected to answer one or more research questions, which means it cannot be just based on theory, someones opinion, or a literature review of past studies that has been conducted.

Step 1: Write your paper, which must include 7 sections:

1) An introduction, include title and authors of the article, which explains the topic and why you chose it (3 points)

2) A summary of the research design (4 points)
. What is the main hypothesis? . What are the main variables in the study the authors are trying to study

3) What was the key finding of the research? What are the conclusions of the study? Please summarize in your own words and provide appropriate citations. (4 points)

4) Explain whether or not you agree with the studys conclusion; be sure to say why or why not. (2 points)

5) If you were a researcher, what you might do to enhance the study if you were designing it? For instance, would you study the same topic using a different population? If this was an intervention study, would you change the intervention/treatment being applied? (2 points)

6) On the scale of 1 (not important at all) to 10 (very important), how would you rate the importance of the study you read about? Explain your rating. (2 points)

7) Using concepts we have learned in our text, if you had to explain the importance of the study to a friend who is not familiar with the study of psychology, what would you say to them? (2 points)

8) What are the real-life implications and significance of the results? For example, how does this apply to your life? (2 points)

9) Your article must be cited at least TWO times in the body of your text using APA style. You must incorporate direct statements, concepts or findings from the article, cite and reference it properly within your paper.
