">
Respond to two of the following prompts, one from Group A and one from Group B. Write 1-2 double-spaced pages each, in a Microsoft Word document, double-spaced (with 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, and 1-inch margins).
Write a fully developed argument that uses evidence from the texts and lectures. In addition, all responses should have a clear thesis statement, logical organization and transitions, and a simple conclusion. Remember to be specific and detailed in your observations to the best of your ability and to avoid summary.
Group A
1. Compare/contrast Aeneas to other heroes that we have discussed this semester. Possibly consider the extent to which he matches the standard definition of a hero, or look at ways in which Virgil redefines heroism though him and why.
2. To what extent is The Aeneid a political poem? Is it propaganda? Discuss specific examples of the political nature of the poem based on your reading of the text. Use specific quotation to reinforce your argument.
3. How is Beowulf a traditional epic hero compared to other epic heroes we have studied this semester? Alternatively, is he a new kind of hero? Is he a tragic hero as in, does he suffer from a flaw? Explain your argument.
4. Does Geoffrey Chaucer craft an authentic female in the Wife of Bath? Is she a feminist character? Consider her portrait in the General Prologue, her own prologue, and her tale in your response.
Group B
1. What do you feel is the cause of Hamlets inaction? How does the characters complexity contribute to this? Do you feel he is completely inactive and passive? Why or why not?
2. One of the strengths of Shakespeares writing is complex psychological development. For Hamlet, one such characteristic is the realism of his depression. Find a passage that deals with depression and discuss it. What makes it an effective passage?
3. Hamlets conflict is familial yet political. Discuss how Shakespeare explores themes of politics and family by drawing parallels with Greek works that we have studied. In what ways does he draw on the Oresteia, in what ways the Odyssey?
4. Hamlet has a deep misogyny and distrust of women. Discuss how this is evident in the play. What are his attitude on sexuality?
5. What is Hamlets attitude toward death, especially his own? Do you find it to be an enlightened view or simply a product of his depression or madness?

Overall Concluding Statement
Write a play in which proponents of two distinct religious traditions are in dialogue with one another about their respective traditions. In this Capstone Project, you must represent a different religious tradition than that reported on in previous assignments.
Your play must portray:
One of the characters in the dialogue will represent a different religious tradition than your own.
The second dialogue partner will represent your own religious tradition.
If you are not religious, then that dialogue partner will represent a non-religious person.
Important Note
The play should not represent a triumphalist position, whether Christian or otherwise.
I\’ve been dreaming of writing a book. I\’ve tried one too many times; but it\’s either I was too busy with something else, or I was terrified at the thought that life will never provide me with good materials. Besides, instead of being inspired by those brilliant writers out there, I get frustrated at the thought that I will never come up with good ideas like what J.K. Rowling and others have. I can\’t even provide you with the simplest instructions. The struggle I have right now is just an unbearable enormous wrestling.
Recently, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer\’s, and as the youngest in the family of six, I designated myself to be her caregiver. So, I have been taking care of her for more than a couple of years now. I left a decent career in the Philippines together with a hot girlfriend, too. I don\’t regret my decision as I believe in destiny, so to speak. If that career and that girlfriend were destined to be mine, no matter where I go, I\’d end up with them. Besides, the law of Karma tells mo too that something good\’s in store for me because what I am doing right now is nothing but kindness.
So, for the instructions, what I need is just a spring board, so to speak, because over the hardships I get from writing and the pains I get from taking care of my mother, I still want to write. The truth is, I have already drafted the blueprint of my book about my experiences with my mother and her disease, but I can\’t seem to come up with how to start this book. Therefore, what I\’m asking is like an introduction.
If you could provide me with the most trivial part of Alzheimer\’s disease and some legit experiences that you have heard from people who went through what I am going through right now. Thank you!
