Describe how you would progress from simply having useful knowledge to the wisdom to make decisions about the information you have found during your database search.

Assignment: Application:
Using the Data/Information/Knowledge/Wisdom Continuum
Have you ever gone online to search for a journal article on a specific topic? It is amazing to see the large number of journals that are available in the health care field. When you view the library in its entirety, you are viewing untapped data. Until you actually research for your particular topic, there is little structure. Once you have narrowed it down, you have information and once you apply the information, you have knowledge. Eventually, after thoughtful research and diligent practice, you reach the level of wisdomknowledge applied in meaningful ways.
Are there areas in your practice that you believe should be more fully explored? The central aims of nursing informatics are to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom. This continuum represents the overarching structure of nursing informatics. In this Assignment, you develop a research question relevant to your practice area and relate how you would work through the progression from data to information, knowledge, and wisdom.
To prepare:
Review the information in Figure 62 in Nursing Informatics and the Foundation of Knowledge.
Develop a clinical question related to your area of practice that you would like to explore.
QUESTION – In adult ICU patients undergoing difficult treatment plans, how does music therapy quiet THE affect OF anxiety during their hospitalization?
Consider what you currently know about this topic. What additional information would you need to answer the question?
Using the continuum of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom, determine how you would go about researching your question.
o Explore the available databases in the Walden Library. Identify which of these databases you would use to find the information or data you need.
o Once you have identified useful databases, how would you go about finding the most relevant articles and information?
o Consider how you would extract the relevant information from the articles.
o How would you take the information and organize it in a way that was useful? How could you take the step from simply having useful knowledge to gaining wisdom?

Write a 3- to 4-page paper that addresses the following:
Summarize the question you developed, and then relate how you would work through the four steps of the data, information, knowledge, wisdom continuum. Be specific.
o Identify the databases and search words you would use.
o Relate how you would take the information gleaned and turn it into useable knowledge.
Can informatics be used to gain wisdom? Describe how you would progress from simply having useful knowledge to the wisdom to make decisions about the information you have found during your database search.
Your paper must also include a title page, an introduction, a summary, and a reference page.

Explain How does Ovid change in his new location?

Final Assignment
1700 words
Identity, Language and An Imaginary Life by David Malouf
How do the charactersand Ovid in particularunderstand the connection between language and identity? What do you conclude about identity, and about the novel as a whole, based on this analysis?
More questions to consider:
How does Ovid change in his new location? How does language reflect self-knowledge? How does Ovids interest in the child reflect his own search for identity? What exactly is he trying to achieve with this project? Why does he teach him the language of the village, and not Latin? How does this compare to his teaching Latin to Ryzaks son? How are sound and meaning intertwined for these characters? To put it another way: how do they connect essence and meaning? How do all these events affect the social order of the village? How does this sense of self conflict with the community?

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV it causes infections in your respiratory tract of your lungs. RSV is classified as a member of the Pneumovirus genus of the family Paramyxoviridae. This virus is transmitted when someone with RSV coughs or sneezes you can become infected when it enters your nose, eyes or mouth,if you touch a surface that may have the virus on it and then touch your face before washing your hands. The virus can live for hours on surfaces. A person that has RSV is most likely to pass the infection in the first few days after they have become infected themselves.
RSV causes infections in the respiratory tract of the lungs mostly in young children. Most of these younger children have already been infected by the age of two. The most common infection of RSV is Bronchiolitis. The symptoms of RSV for a mild can can include runny nose, dry cough, low grade fever, sore throat and a mild headache. For the more severe cases of RSV the signs of the virus are fever, severe cough, wheezing difficulty breathing and bluish color to the skin, which is caused by the lack of oxygen.
Infants are most commonly and severely infected by RSV. Since infants cannot talk and explain what is wrong, they may only show few if any signs of the infection. The main sign of the RSV infection in infants would be their chest muscles drawn in and the skin between their ribs, from having trouble breathing and the breathing can be slow and rapid. Most people infected with RSV will be fine and fully recover from it with about two weeks. The virus may be more severe in some others such as infants that were born prematurely, young babies and adults or infants what have heart or lung problems and can require hospitalization.
In order for a doctor to determine if a patient has RSV, the doctor will do a physical exam to determine as well as the time of the year. They may also use a stethoscope to check for wheezing or other abnormal sounds. They may also do blood tests to check white cell counts or look for the presence of viruses or bacterias, and they may also do a chest x-ray to check pneumonia. Usually the doctor will recommend an over the counter medication to treat the fever and they may also prescribe an antibiotic. Doctors will also tell the caretaker of the infant or the patient to do self-care measures. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids, and rest, create moist air in the room, stay in an upright position to make breathing easier and try saline nasal drops.
To prevent the spread of RSV wash hands frequently, avoid being around people who have RSV, keep things clean, don\’t share utensils and drinking glasses, and obtain from being around smoke or smoking. Doctors also ask that parents have their children vaccinated to help reduce the spread of RSV among children and adults.
