Background
We rely on our bodies for everything; thinking and making decisions, respiration, staying warm, healing wounds, digesting food, getting rid of waste, and many other things. Each part of our body system has a different role, but all of them work together to keep us alive.
Homeostasis is a balancing act for our bodies and is essential to our survival. Our body must be able to balance the amount of water, salt, and glucose within them. It also needs to maintain body temperature. If any one of these things is out of balance it can mean death (JamJarMMX, 2012).
