What does it mean to have a sociological imagination

What does it mean to have a sociological imagination? How does this relate to what Mills refers to as private troubles and public issues? Share an example of an issue that might be considered by sociologists to be both a private trouble as well as a public issue. Hint: How do media and/or culture link private troubles and public issues, OR make private troubles become public issues? Look to chapter 3 for support

Do small stocks show a similar higher standard deviation in the earliest sub period as for large stocks?

2. Convert nominal returns on both large and small stocks to real rates. Reproduce the spreadsheet using real rates in stead of excess returns. Compare the results to those on the spreadsheet

Sport psychology practitioners (SPPs) work in an environment that can often encourages ethical dilemmas by itself. In this assignment, you will examine this very complex issue by reading an article that highlights how an SPPs work can be impacted by those who signs the paycheck. You will examine the ethical dilemmas posed by working with clients, who are considered employees of an organization, when the organization, itself, has hired the SPP.

When hired to work with employees of an organization, who, ultimately, is your client?

How do the eight areas highlighted by Moore (2003) differ within the context of working with athletes in private practice and working with athletes as a hired professional through a sport organization and/or team?

Based on the information in the article by Moore (2003), what steps should an SPP take to assure trust and confidence from both an employee and an employer?

Teenage bereavement in a residential setting.

This is a reflective study of the deaths of two different teenage girls in a boarding school setting, and what the school learned from their deaths. They died within two years of one another and the school was\’ better prepared\’ as they had now employed a full time counsellor. The first death was of a 15 year old girl called Phyllis who died very suddenly within two weeks of arriving at school, so the impact was less than the second 15 year old called Allegra who had been with the school since 11 years of age.

This is the assessment criteria.
1) Select two incidents/case studies that you wish to analyse or comment on (above)
2)Outline what action was taken. (Panic and bad management for the first one, access to a counsellor and bereavement counselling for the staff.
3)How the situation developed over time.(evaluation of the subject and the issues that concern the teenagers in the school, how they react in different ways, the impact on boarding life)
4)Analyse critically what you learned from the experience (say anything you like!)
5)What professional skills needed to be employed ( age and experience, sympathy, evidence of reading and use of other sources)
6) the impact on my personal and professional life, what have I learned?
