Discussion Board

Using the scientific method, design a study to determine the best studying techniques for an online course like this one compared to study techniques for a regular class. Specify experimental and control groups. What variables would you test? Name them. Which variables would be your adjustment variables? Name them. What ind of data could you obtain and how would you analyze it? Be sure to include the following sections: 1) observation -What have you experienced that leads you to your study? 2) hypotheses or research questions; 3) analysis – this is the setup of your experiment including detailed descriptions of the participants, questions used, and the test conditions; 4) results – report you findings -they are hypothetical; 5) conclusions – were the hypotheses supported – discuss each hypothesis and if it was supported or not supported. If you used research questions, what were the main themes that you found from the participants? 5) discussion – what are the implications of your findings? Now, think about how the results and/or conclusions drawn from such a study could be used to help students study better.
