Case name: Michael J. Ward, Keith A. Marsolo, and Craig M. Froehle, Analytics in Healthcare (Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, 2014).

Case introduction: The application of analytics in health care requires the transformation of data into usable information that can be relayed back to end users. The adoption of electronic health record systems (EHRs) and other electronic data mechanisms makes the application of analytical tools more tractable by providing the basic electronic data upon which to act.

Assignment:
1.Discuss different ways to use analytics to take advantage of health data.

2.Identify the potential risks associated with having all health data in one single repository.

3.Should the private industry control such data repository?

4.Discuss some of the challenges identify in the case. AND
a)These include overcoming privacy concerns,
b)collecting high-quality data and making it available,
c)developing data standards,
d)communicating data to end users,
e)and having enough qualified personnel to deliver on such promises.
