What sources has the author based their discussion on (e.g empirical research, historical review of literature, opinion piece etc)
What are the main arguments, central ideas, findings or conclusions
How the research may impact disabled people
always try to refer if the piece is Medical Model of disability or Social model of disability
Perform a rapid appraisal of each article by answering the following questions (one to two sentences are sufficient to answer each question):
1)How does each article describe the nature of the problem, issue, or deficit you have identified?
2)Does each article provide statistical information to demonstrate the gravity of the issue, problem, or deficit?

Throughout this course we have discussed some of the important topics surrounding assessment. There is no question that assessment is important as we have learned over the last four weeks, but it is also a heavily debated topic in education. According to Wortham (2012), “Assessments in the early childhood years have many purposes; some are beneficial for young children, and others are detrimental” (p. 21). Reflecting over your coursework so far, as a caregiver, teacher or practitioner, how do the benefits of assessments at any age level directly relate to you and your work with children?
