Office Conflict

Project description
ase 1:

Jill is the director of a regional division of a nonprofit organization serving children from underprivileged communities. The organization has been very focused on a national fundraising campaign to improve the quality of meals provided at its afterschool facilities. Jills division relies upon the Campaigns and Development division to source donations for required equipment, assist with funding, and negotiate with suppliers.

Jill has secured funding from a local donor who wants to sponsor the upgrade of five aftercare centers in the area. This includes money for new computers for these centers. In accordance with organizational policy, Jill placed a request with the Campaigns and Development division for the new computers a few weeks ago (any purchase over $20000 is typically completed through existing suppliers providing preferable pricing or part donations). She has not seen any progress with the order.

Jill spoke with Dan, the Campaigns and Development divisions director, about the urgency to complete the upgrade and satisfy the donor\’s need to see the new centers and computers fully operational. Dan emphasized that he was short staffed and focused on the national nutrition campaign, but would get to it. Jill offered to find her own supplier using the funding she had. After another two weeks without progress Jill spoke with a long-time trustee at the organizations annual board retreat about the problem. The trustee spoke with Jill and Dan\’s boss. Jill and Dan were asked to attend a meeting in person at the organization\’s head office. A few hours before the meeting Dan sent Jill a text \”Thanks a lot Jill\”. What do you think happened next?

Include analysis of what has happened so far, as well as what you think will happen next. Written responses should be developed and prepared in a formal, not conversational, essay style of at least 2 pages. Use psychodynamic and the stages of conflict as references. The book used for these references is (Working Through Conflict Strategies for Relationships, Groups, and Organizations by Folger, Poole, & Stutman

Leadership Assessment

Project description
As part of the self-assessments, take a series of very short self-assessment quizzes which will help gain an understanding leadership traits and styles. There are no right or wrong answers to these quizzes. They are designed to provide some insights into leadership skill sets.
There are no prescribed minimum or maximum word limits for the weekly self-assessments; however, it is suggested that these written reports range from 1,000 to 2,500 words per module. These reports should reflect the findings and conclusions that students get from the self-assessment quizzes and from personal reflection.
The exercise must conform to the requirements of APA formatting, to include cover page (running head with keys words, page number, title, author, university), a table of contents, APA-level headings and subheadings, proper in-text citations, and a reference section at the end.
