Essay needs to respond to the following article.

Harrop: Sticking up for Coke, sort of

The make-an-argument essay is the final essay for ENG 102 and the culmination of the work you have been doing this semester. It requires you to respond clearly and with evidence to an opinionated article and also needs you to complete research, on the web or in the University databases, to develop that response.
Two articles have been posted to the class page and labeled as argument starters. Read BOTH articles. You will choose one of these articles to respond to in your make-an-argument essay, but I dont want you to decide too soon: class work in this first week on the make-an-argument essay requires you to investigate and work with BOTH of the argument starters.
Once you have a sense of both articles, choose one and begin to form your own opinion on the topic. Like was the case with the response essay, you can tackle the argument one of the articles is making head-on, disagreeing or, as the They say, I say book suggests, agreeing with a difference. But, as was the case with the response essay, you can also veer a little away from the original topic as long as you remain in the same broad intellectual domain. So, if you were responding to an article about the benefits about home schooling, for example, you could write about the problems with the American educational system more broadly, or about how a specific home schooling curriculum is very successful or unsuccessful. But you probably couldnt write about college debt, or car recalls due to faulty airbags and who is responsible for that. Theres a line, but within that line, theres a lot of ways you can approach this topic.
My hope is that youll start by developing a rough thesis of where you think you want to go and how youll get there. Then, look at that thesis and ask yourself what questions an argument with that thesis will need to answer: do you need to define terms? Do you need to give us some historical background? Are there consequences, costs and benefits that youll need to account for and explain? What do people who disagree with you think, and what makes it hard for them to see the value in your position?
This last idea, that there are people who will disagree with you, is an important and required part of this assignment. You must include a contrary source, someone who disagrees with you, in your essay, and then you must tell us why you are not persuaded by them. The fine folks who wrote They say, I say have some good suggestions on how to do that.
The make-an-argument essay must be at least five double-spaced pages. It should include six sourcesone of the original argument starters and an additional five sources drawn from the web or the University databases or both. The argument starter can be your contrary source, but if it is, you still need to include five additional outside sources in the body of your essay. All six sources will appear on a works cited page, arranged according to MLA style.

Explain how to address team conflicts and how to help ensure team cohesion and collaboration.

Using the information that you gained from the readings thus far, write a three- to four-page paper (not including the title and reference pages) that describes a project that you might undertake (this can be a fictitious one or one that you have actually worked on). Describe the major steps and the milestones of your project along with a timeline for each step. Be sure to explain how to address team conflicts and how to help ensure team cohesion and collaboration. You are required to use at least two scholarly sources in addition to the text in the construction of your paper.

Multiracial Discrimination

Dalmage (2013) writes, \”Parents and teachers should be aware of the unique forms of discrimination faced by multiracial children and the White supremacist system in which discrimination flourishes\” (p. 101). As social workers, we should be aware of our own understanding of what it means to be multiracial in society. This awareness includes a review of our own potential biases that might exist. We need to challenge our own personal ideas about how we categorize individuals and those assumptions that follow along with those categories. Rather, we must respect our client\’s experience as a multiracial person in the world, beginning with asking him or her how they would define themselves when completing an intake or assessment form. Further, a social worker must be aware of the many forms of racism and prejudice a person with a multiracial background might experience. As Dalmage discusses, judgment comes from many sides with different intentions and expectations. Being aware of the particular forms of racism that a person who is multiracial will experience will give you the ability to do your best to understand their experience and empathize.
By Day 7
Submit a 2- to 3-page paper. Describe the impact of discrimination on individuals of multiracial backgrounds. Describe the impact of biracial/multiracial or multiethnic distinction on our society. Justify your response. How do these distinctions relate to social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities? Be sure to use APA formatting and references from the Learning Resources and two additional peer-reviewed resources from the Walden library about the discrimination against biracial and multiracial individuals.

**I have attached the peer-reviewed resource for two of the sources- use any other source you want.
