Please read carefully chapter 34 before answering the questions below:

The power of the government to take private property for public use was traditionally used for highways or power plants. Recent developments have been controversial as interpretations by courts allowing city governments to take private property in areas deemed \”blighted\” and give that property to another private party have been upheld. In these cases the court has determined that the private party\’s intended use of the property for economic development is considered public use. Do you agree with this interpretation? Do you see issue with the city being able to take property from its most vulnerable population?
