How does ethically representing the company demonstrate your ability to be a servant leader?

Provide a 150 word respose to the discussion question answer below with in-text citations and references There will always be positive and negative attributes of any organization due to the sheer diversity of people who are employed there. Each individual brings their own unique set of values to the organization, and like-minded individuals in upper leadership will establish the values of the organization.  As a servant leader in any organization, there are bound to certain issues that don’t sit well with one’s value system. When confronting by those situations, a servant leader has to recognize what to let go, what battles are worth fighting, and where to absolutely draw the line. A person of integrity, a key value in servant leadership, feels compelled to speak up when values don’t align or when behavior doesn’t align with stated values. Ethically, the servant leader would be wise to respectfully challenge questionable situations with other leaders in the appropriate closed-door forums and not openly disrespect the decisions or character of those leaders. Servant leaders lead by example and role modeling behavior. “Furthermore, servant leadership theory suggests personal values of the leader can impact the resulting corporate culture. Therefore, a servant leader, just by bringing in his or her own value and belief systems, can begin to shift the whole culture towards something unique and different” (Cleverism, 2016). Personally, the deal breaker would be any actions or behaviors that I found to be immoral, unethical, or illegal.  Suppose you go to work for an organization that you discover does not align with your personal values. You are in a leadership role and you are not in a position to leave the job. How do you ethically represent the company without compromising your own beliefs? What is the deal breaker for you? How does ethically representing the company demonstrate your ability to be a servant leader?

Managing Conflict

You have just been part of a merger. You have each been chosen to head up your department and merge the two groups into a self-directed work team. Work with each other to lay out a plan describing how you will develop a new team within your department or departments. It is natural that there will be some confrontations between people. Look at the stages of team development and use that knowledge to work with the team. It is recognized that some employees will refuse to be part of the team. In fact, the new ownership expects that there will be some who lose their jobs because of these issues; however, that is a last resort. Use all your skills to negotiate with employees in an attempt to resolve conflicts and pull your team together.Because you are working together as a team, it is seen by the ownership that if one is successful, you are all successful. Likewise, if one fails, you all fail. The future success of the company is dependent on your mutual success.Consider the following:2 pagesGuidelines for Writing Paper (APA)1. Provide a 150 word response to below discussion question answer with in-text citations and references  It is important to have good personal values, not only in our personal life, but also in our professional life. These values help guide how we live our lives as well as how we interact with others, especially at work. When it comes to individual differences in servant leadership, regarding roles of values and personality, Washington, Sutton, and Hubert (2006) found that in their study “Followers ratings of leaders’ servant leadership were positively related to the followers ratings’ of leaders’ values of empathy, integrity and competence. Followers’ ratings of leaders’ servant leadership were also positively related to leaders ratings of their own agreeableness” (p. 700).  Other servant leadership characteristics worthy of emulation include listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment to the growth of people, and building community (Spears, 2010).I was brought up in a devout Christian family, and I remember my father talking seriously about joining the ministry to serve others when I was young.  At church, it was all about humility and service. I leaned to serves others by listening, by showing empathy and by being part of the healing process.  In healthcare, I continue to use the personal value of being aware of reality, listening, showing empathy, integrity, and empowering staff. I currently work in behavior health, and I am constantly requesting for adequate staff, for staff and patient protection. It could be potentially dangerous to have a severely psychotic, homicidal, or suicidal patient running amok on the unit without adequate staff support. I show confidence and competence by proactively deescalating patient and teaching staff how to do it with non-aggressive techniques. I lead by example, and try not to put staff in harms way. I have been successful in encouraging some psychiatric technicians to go back to school. Some have followed my advice and are currently nurses. I feel a sense of joy when I see the progress some of them have made.Think about how your personal values correlate with the principles of servant leadership. How can you draw on values and servant leadership principles to better establish your follower ship to better serve those you lead professionally and personally?
