Discussion post

Creativity, innovation, and foresight are closely connected concepts. This week’s reading from the Cambridge Handbook of Creativity introduced the connections between individual creativity, an organization’s capacity for innovation, and the ability to predict coming trends and other important developments successfully. The systematic approaches to creativity overviewed in this chapter offer a wide variety of means to foster creativity, but the most important knowledge you can gain from this reading is the fact that creativity is not an unexplainable phenomenon or a mysterious process. Rather, creativity can be approached systematically in order to seek out opportunities for innovation, based on foresight. For this Discussion, you will analyze how foresight, creativity, and innovation are separate, yet interrelated, concepts. To prepare for the Discussion, read “Welcome to a World of Change: Life in the 21st century” (Puccio, et al, 2011) and “Moonshots for Management” (Hamel, 2009). Also consider the tensions between innovation and creativity addressed in the article “Institutionalizing Ethical Innovation in Organizations: An Integrated Causal Model of Moral Innovation Decision Processes”. Use this article as a foundation for evaluating creativity, foresight, and innovation within an ethical model. by  of  by selecting an organization – it could be a company or even a division of a company – and describing a situation that demonstrates this organization’s foresight, creativity, and innovation within an ethical model. Branding- CRUSSH juice bar company

Project description
Throughout this module we will consider what makes strong versus weak brands, how brands can use strategy and how to get the best out of design. The assessment aspect of this module is designed to give you a chance to apply these ideas to brands of your choice. Project B is deliverable in Week 12. It is an individual project that focuses on a single brand. Choose one brand from your Project A study.

In Week 6 you gave a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation and delivered a supporting document that addressed three topics a problem, the business context and a provisional solution. The written report and plan that constitute the main part of Project B are a chance for you to develop and refine a detailed solution and firm set of recommendations for just one brand.

Deliverables

Divide your document into these sections.

REPORT: 1,700 WORDS

THE PROBLEM WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS BRAND?

What seems to be the purpose of this brand? Does it have a mission or a set of ideals? What is it for?
Why does it need re-branding? What are the threats or problems it is facing? What challenges need to be overcome?

THE BUSINESS CONTEXT WHO ARE THE CUSTOMERS AND THE COMPETITION?

What are the current market trends and who are each brands competitors? How are these brands currently positioned relative to each other and to the consumer?
Who are the brands current and potential target audiences?

THE SOLUTION HOW TO MAKE THIS BRAND BETTER

In light of the above, what are the opportunities for the brand? What can it achieve?
What is the rationale for your proposed rebranding? What academic and business literature on branding has led you to your conclusions?
What are your recommendations for rebranding? What brand architecture do you recommend? What brand values do you recommend? What kind of positioning and for what audience?
A shortlist of branding consultancies that you recommend the brand should work with. Nominate your final choice and explain why.

PLAN: 800 WORDS

A brief that can be handed to that consultancy. You will be shown how to prepare a brief; it can be a visual device that fits on one page.
Timings give a timeline showing how the rebranding process will roll out. We will repeatedly refer to the branding process during the lecture series and it is in your core textbook.
Costs indicate how much you expect the rebranding to cost. Specify how you intend to measure return on investment.

The Report and Plan should include citations to any literature throughout (in Harvard style) with a complete list of References and Bibliography at the end.
Visual and competitor material that supports the changes to the brand should be included within the body of the report and/or an Appendix.

CONCEPT BOARD
A concept board is a visual tool that looks like a poster. It represents your ideas in images rather than words. You will be shown how to prepare a concept board during the module. Include this item as an appendix to your written report and plan; make sure it is part of the same file.

Please use the following format:
Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF file
Title page (with title, name, id, date, module, and total word count)
A4 Microsoft Word Normal Margins: 2.54cm all around
1.5 line spacing
Section Headings
Body text: Times New Roman/Arial 12pt
Headers and footers with title and page numbers
The written part of the work (your report and plan) should be 2,500 words, plus or minus 10%. The word count excludes charts, graphics, references and appendices
Harvard Referencing style, which you will use when supplying references.

Scholarly activity

r this assignment, you are to research ONE of the following situations. Discuss it thoroughly using the course learning outcomes for this unit as a foundation to discuss the concepts.    Research an incident involving fire suppressant(s). Compare the fire suppressant(s) listed in the incident to others listed in scholarly sources and the textbook. Describe the suppressant, give real life experiences involving the suppressant, and briefly compare and contrast which other fire suppressants would be effective for the same incident. Discuss the chemical phase, the mechanism of action, the mode of application, and the application system.    Research an incident involving a gasoline fire and briefly describe the incident. Discuss the best aqueous foam(s) for fighting the fire. Explain the principal mode of application of the aqueous foam agent. Was the aqueous foam effective? Why, or why not?    Research an incident involving inert gases used to prevent, quench, or interfere with the chain propagating and chain branching chemistry of the flames. Explain why the uses of chemically active agents are limited by their environmental impacts and health hazards. Do you agree with or disagree with their environmental impacts and health hazards? Why, or why not?    Research emergency response for fires that use water delivery enhanced with chemical additives for extinguishment. Briefly describe an incident and highlight some of the primary types of chemical additives and their effectiveness. Did the water have high heat of vaporization or gasify readily with the additives? Did the additives form any toxic products after the extinguishment of the fire?   FIR 3301, Fire Behavior and Combustion 6     Your response should be at least three pages of content, double spaced and appropriately cited using APA style writing. Any material that is directly quoted is required to have the necessary citation. Your paper should have a title page and reference page meeting APA format. This should be original work that demonstrates a higher level of learning. The use of material from other scholarly sources is appropriate to show that you can analyze the information and apply it to other situations by building on the knowledge of others as it applies to your exploratory assignment.

CULTURAL IDENTITY

Project description
Read both of these articles, which can be accessed in the Trident library:

Purcell, N., & Cutchen, L. (2013). Diabetes self-management education for African Americans: Using the PEN-3 model to assess needs. American Journal of Health Education, 44(4), 203-212.

Lindberg, N. M., Stevens, V. J., & Halperin, R. O. (2013). Weight-Loss Interventions for Hispanic Populations: The Role of Culture. Journal of Obesity, 2013, 542736.

Choose ONE of the articles topics to focus on for the rest of the SLP. You will use the information in the selected publication as you go through the phases of applying the PEN-3 model to develop a hypothetical health education program.
Please let me know if you have trouble accessing these articles.
Write a paper that includes the following:

1. Provide a brief overview of the health issue among your selected group, statistics about the scope of the problem, and its implications for health.

2. Describe the Cultural Identity of the group you chose. Specifically address how each of the PEN-3 models three factors within Cultural Identity applies to your group and provide examples.

Use subheadings to clearly show that you have addressed each of the three factors.
Support your discussion with references from scholarly and professional references (not just your opinion). REFERENCES CANNOT BE OLDER THAN 5 YEARS!

According to USDHHS (2005), “Culture” refers to integrated patterns of human behavior that include the language, thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs, values, and institutions of racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups. “Competence” implies having the capacity to function effectively as an individual and an organization within the context of the cultural beliefs, behaviors, and needs presented by consumers and their communities. (Adapted from Cross, 1989).

Culture influences health beliefs, health behaviors, and health status of individuals, families, and communities. Dr. Collins Airhihenbuwa, a health educator and a professor at The Pennsylvania State University Department of Biobehavioral Health, found that many health education programs are designed from a Western culture perspective. He developed a program planning model called PEN-3 that guides the development of health promotion interventions by incorporating cultural influences on health behaviors.

The PEN-3 model has been successfully used to plan and implement child survival interventions and HIV prevention interventions in African countries. It is very useful for health educators in any country as we try to promote health among individuals and communities from various cultures.

The PEN-3 model has three dimensions of health beliefs and behavior that all work together to influence health:

Cultural Identity
Relationships and Expectations
Cultural Empowerment
In this module we will focus on Cultural Identity. The three factors in this dimension are:

P – Person. Health education should be committed to improving the health of everyone. Therefore, individuals should be empowered to make informed decisions which are appropriate to their roles in their families and communities. As program planners, we have to decide whether we will be most effective providing programs geared to the individuals, the extended family, or the community.

E – Extended Family. Health education should be targeted to not only the immediate family but also to the extended family or kinships. When the program is designed to target a particular member of the family, the individual should become the focus within the context of that person”s environment.

N – Neighborhood. Health education should be committed to promoting health and preventing disease in neighborhoods and communities. Involvement of community members and their leaders is critical to providing culturally appropriate health programs.

ACCT 410 Quiz 3

ACCT 410 Quiz 3T/F questions are worth .5 point each:1.A fund in itself is a separate legal entity that is established to comply with laws that require that certain transactions be segregated and accounted for as a separate “fund.”2.The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) sets generally accepted accounting principles (GAAPs) for non-government not-for-profit organizations, while government non-profit organizations must follow GASB.T 3.The size of a government’s operations does not necessarily coincide with the number of funds it establishes.4.The MDA section of the basic financial statements is an introduction of events that have occurred in the organization as well as the possible effects of events that might happen.5.The government wide financial statements are presented in addition to fund financial statements and include the entity’s fiduciary activities.6.The budget of an NFP organization is not integrated into the record-keeping procedures and the applicable financial statements, as it is for governmental entities.7.Certain revenues are precluded by GAAP from being recorded in special revenue funds. Revenues that are earmarked for expenditures for major capital projects should be recorded in special revenue funds.8.NFP organizations adjust the value of their long-term debt for discounts or premiums on issuance of the debt, whereas governments list their long-term debt in the General Long-term Liabilities accounts at face value even though it may have been issued at a discount or at a premium.9.Because they use full accrual accounting, NFPs account for depreciation. There is an exception, however, in regard to certain assets that have collection value which are preservable in their current condition, and have a claim on resources sufficient to preserve them indefinitely.10. Proprietary funds use the accrual basis of accounting and the economic resources measurement focus. Accordingly, proprietary funds recognize revenues when they are earned and recognize expenses when a liability is incurred.11.The basis of accounting describes when transactions are recorded, not what transactions are recorded. Accordingly, allocations such as depreciation and amortization are not recorded as expenditures of governmental funds, nor are long-term liabilities. 12.Governmental funds use the current financial resources measurement focus, which recognizes as expenditures those costs that result in a decrease in current financial resources.13.Routine employer contributions from the general fund and internal services billings from the enterprise fund are treated as transfers between funds.14.The City of Virginia Beach issues $5 million in revenue bonds on January 1 to build a water line for the water enterprise fund.  Interest is payable every six months.  What entry is made for interest expense as of June 30?15.The GASB requires each governmental entity to prepare a CAFR.16. The budget for Virginia Beach authorizes expenditures of 12 million and forecasts revenues of 10 million for 2016.  The entry to record the budget in the General Fund is as follows (true or false).18. GASBS 34 updated the types of fiduciary funds to include the following:Pension (and other employee benefit) trust fundsInvestment trust fundsPrivate-purpose trust fundsEnterprise funds19.Identify 4 main (the big between fund accounting and proprietary accounting.  20.How are the 4 main differences (refer to question 19) reflected in the fund verses the government financial statements ?

Automated Pharmacy Case Study

As the director of pharmacy for CMC, you have been experiencing an increase in drug cost of approximately eight to ten percent per year for the past three years. The annual pharmacy drug cost has increased from $10,300,000 to $16,800,000 in the past five years. The hospital is experiencing an increase in drug cost even though actual drug usage has remained stable.Along with the increase in drug cost, drug related errors have also increased. Patient safety has become an even more serious issue. As you know, patient safety is the number one item on the national health care agenda for the next several years. At the hospital the number of dispensing errors has increased by two percent during the past twelve months. The registered nurses who are administering the drugs have discovered many of the dispensing errors; however, the ones not discovered resulted in patients getting the wrong drug, wrong dosage, and/or the wrong frequency. When the overall drug error rate was analyzed, it was found that dispensing errors in the pharmacy were the number one cause. The overall drug error rate had increased from three percent to five percent.Fortunately most of the dispensing errors were discovered before the medications were administered to the patients. When the incorrect drugs were administered, it resulted in adverse effects in three cases. One patient received the right medication but the wrong dosage because the medication label was incorrect. This patient had to be admitted overnight to the Intensive Care Unit for intense cardiac and respiratory monitoring. The patient stayed in ICU for approximately twenty four hours. Another patient received the wrong medication on the day of planned discharge and had to remain in the hospital for an additional day, though only for observation. In the third case, the patient had reported that he was allergic to a certain category of drugs, but nonetheless received a drug of that type. He had an adverse reaction–a rash–which delayed his discharge by one day. On the basis of your understanding of the above case study, express your views on the following:
