This assessment is a 2,000 words essay (10% flexibility either way) covering the concepts of
markets and elasticity of the demand. The assessment contains two questions, they are:
(a) Interpret the following empirically-estimated own-price elasticity of demand for cereals
in Australia. If you were the marketing manager of a cereal manufacturing company, how

(b) Indonesia has a highly regulated airline sector with rules and fare levels that vary
depending on an airlines business model. The government has a ceiling price for every
domestic route. Airlines classified as full-service can charge up to 100% of the ceiling price
while airlines characterized as medium service can charge up to 90% and no frills airlines
up to 85%. Indonesia also has a price floor which, in theory, prohibits airlines to charge
less than 30% of the ceiling price. What are the economic arguments against price floors
and ceilings? What might be the governments rationale for this regulatory intervention?
Your essay should consist of an introduction where you present the purpose of the work.
Divide the main body of the essay into two distinct sections, addressing questions (a) and (b)
respectively. You can have several paragraphs under each section. End your essay with a
conclusion. You should also include a page listing the references. I am not expecting an
executive summary or abstract.

Besides the textbook, you should also refer to a few other academic books, journal
articles and relevant websites in answering these questions.

result in a fail grade for this assessment.

In this lab, you will determine how an invasive species the zebra and quagga mussel affects other species in the freshwater lake. Use the animation to help you come up with an answer to the following:

The Effects of Zebra and Quagga Mussels Introduced into a Freshwater Lake

As you have learned, population dynamics are caused by the biotic potential of the population and the effects of environmental resistance. When there is minimal environmental resistance impacting a population, it will exhibit a population explosion. One reason for minimal resistance could be factors that no longer regulate a population (e.g., predator decline or resource increases). Another reason for a population explosion is the introduction of an invasive species. Invasive species are species foreign to an ecosystem and are not immediately regulated by the environmental restraints of the particular ecosystem that they invade. This in turn allows their populations to grow seemingly uncontrolled and to displace other indigenous populations. Examples of such an invasive species into North America are dreissenid mussels, commonly known as zebra and quagga mussels. Their introduction into the Great Lakes has caused economic hardship and a reorganization of the ecosystem. This has led, in part, to pollution-causing effects that can be linked to an alga known as Cladophora.

Ecosystems are webs of intricately balanced interactions, what happens when a new species is introduced that uses a disproportionate share of the ecosystems resources?

Mechanical Engineering. This Literature review has to cover all previous work regarding methods of tribological testing on human skin friction. My thesis involves the use of a UMT machine (friction test) on the volar forearm and also the corneometer(water) and sebumeter(oil). My project aim is to develop a protocol to measure the changes in tribological properties(friction, hydration, oil levels) of skin before and after application of vaseline.The objectives include:

Cases are available. Students are to read both Pirker Decisions and do a case comment comparing the decision of Pirker I and Pirker II. The Formant of the Case Comment should be no longer than 1500 words and will contain an introduction, background information, the holding of the particular Court and most importantly, the student analysis of the case law on aviation, if any. Which decision in your opinion is correct, is it the ALJ in Pirker I or the the full NTSB board in Pirker II. Case comments will be evaluated on proper formatting, complete sentences, punctuation, and grammar. Proper formated of citations must be used as found in Chapter One of the Fundamentals of Aviation Law, the Course Text Book.
