Much of conflict resolution moves beyond figuring out the solution (such as implementing a new program to reduce the need for meetings). It is important to look at the interpersonal and intrapersonal concepts such as vulnerability, trust, intentionality, and reconciliation.
Using a concept map, examine the interconnectedness of the interpersonal side of conflict resolution. Use a specific conflict situation. Bring in supporting evidence from the texts you have read, including the article that you selected and read for this week. How did the absence or presence of the ideas in the sources factor into the outcome of the conflict? Did the different parties involved in the conflict use these ideas differently? For example, one member was willing to be vulnerable and another was not. Identify key elements and/or behaviors contributing to the dysfunction and conflict including behavior patterns associated with interpersonal conflict and organizational conflict, involving socio-cultural, personal, and organizational issues where appropriate. Compare and contrast these contextual behaviors and conflict factors to look for patterns. Use the findings from this analysis and concepts from the readings to propose two alternative resolutions for each dysfunctional or conflict situation.
Be sure to adhere to the Good Name Policy in the Student Handbook, write in a concise manner, and adhere to APA writing style standards. It should be 3-5 pages in length. The paper should include multiple sources including course readings and any necessary outside research.
