Aims and Objectives: Despite routine evidence based care, many venous leg ulcers fail to heal within 6 months or sometimes years, and after healing, over half recur within 12 months. Recently two risk assessment tools were developed and validated for early detection of patients at risk of delayed healing or recurrence after healing. During this study the need was identified for minor modifications and refining of the tool. Study aims include re-testing the modified tools reliability and validity, implementing the tools in different health service settings, and evaluating the usability and outcomes from use of the tools.
Methodology and resources: Testing of the modified tool will involve participant recruitment, data collection, data entry and analysis.
