1. Paragraph #1 Introduction:
Includes an attention getter, the title and author, and has a clear thesis stating the theme and two literary elements. This paragraph should be approximately 5 sentences in length.
2. Paragraph #2 Theme:
Reveal the central theme of your short story, and prove its existence with two quotations. One must be a direct quote from the story itself that illustrates the theme. The second quote must be from an outside source that supports your first quote. Please use APA Format for all in-text citations (see APA PowerPoint for formatting rules and examples). This paragraph should be 8 sentences in length.
3. Paragraph #3 Literary Element #1:

5. Paragraph #5 Conclusion:
Sum up the ideas in the essay. End on a powerful and memorable note! This paragraph should be approximately 5 sentences in length.
6. References Page:
Last page of essay, formatted in APA, which alphabetically lists all sources used within the paper.
