Other Notes: Senior level research- not descriptive; not based on what you are doing- go above and beyond. You can describe the topic and then review measurable, journal specific research associated with your thesis.

APA Format: Uses in text citations (Hunt, et. al., 2013, p. 37)

Title Page: acts as the first major section of the document

Abstract: acts as the second major section of the document

Main Body: (8 to 10 Pages)acts as the third major section of the document
Presents a report of the writer(s) research and findings
Includes four sections (typically): the introduction, method, results, and discussion
Provides the reader with pertinent information about the papers topic

References page: acts as the fourth major section of the document
Presents a compilation of the sources cited in the paper
Provides a comprehensive list of works that appear as in-text citations in the paper, Details the full source information for each entry

Research Paper/Presentation (30% of grade)
A 5-6 page research paper on an aspect of Mindfulness every student should choose an aspect of Mindfulness that will be presented in our last 3 sessions or 4 sessions.

1. Discuss the various perspectives on the topic around political power: who gets

of each stakeholder.

The important point is to prove and/or support your statement and claims. Each student much include the following information in an 8 paragraph essay:

1) A statement of the issue (Background/why is that an issue? – introduction – paragraph 1)
2) Arguments that supports one position (Paragraph 2, 3, 4)
3) Rebuttals – (What are the best arguments on the other side of your issue? Paragraph 5, 6, 7)
4) A statement of your position on the issue (What are your conclusions based on the research you did and the most convincing arguments. – Paragraph 8)
5) Minimum 5 references in APA format, and in-text citations in your paragraphs. Include an APA cover page and abstract. (Cover, Abstract, 6 Pages, and Reference)

Use all three perspectives (functionalism, conflict and interactionism) to analyze one of the following issues: fraternities and sororities, social networking sites, or employer/employee relations.
Write a 700- to 1,050-word essay in which you complete the following:
Give a brief introduction that identifies the issue you have chosen and why.
Describe in three separate paragraphs how each perspective would view or explain the issue.
Include elements of culture and how humans learn, develop, and become integrated into society.
Provide a conclusion that discusses which perspective you think is most applicable to the issue or how the three perspectives complement one another in understanding the issue.
