Neoliberalism refers to the attempt to reorganise society and the state on the basis of an ideal of the market. Neoliberalism proclaims that the logic of business and money is the best determinant of human happiness. Neoliberalism also says that human beings cant be trusted, so the market must necessarily dictate what the people want. Every category of human interaction, therefore from the public sector to the intimate adventures of love and lust must be made to work more like a market, with in-built competitive mechanisms and cost controls. Every personal choice, including democratic choice, must be subsumed into the logic of the market: flesh itself can be remoulded for profit. We are told that this is what liberty looks like. Neoliberalism is an attempt to build a Machinery of Freedom, in the words of David Friedman, in which human beings are economic creatures first and foremost. Everything we do should be about maximising utility, whether its in a relationship, in a job, or in social situations. The self is just an entrepreneurial project. The body is just human capital, a set of resources whether the brain, the breasts or the biceps which can be put to work generating an income stream.

1) In Alvin Plantinga’s book Where the Conflict Really Lies: Science, Religion, and Naturalism “the central thesis in the book is that while there is a genuine conflict between religion and science, that a conflict lies, not between theistic religion and science but between the religion of naturalism and science” (Craig, W. L. n.d.). Plantinga states that there is an allusion of conflict but there are scientific facts and religious beliefs that actual complement each other or prove one another’s existence.Plantina’s theory is that both religious and science can co-exist. He talks about how there are conflicting facts for science that some believe disproves religion. He thinks that the conflicts are over exaggerated or really don’t apply in some cases.The section on divine action and in that section Plantinga has no problem showing classical physics or quantum physics suggest in any way that god cannot intervene miraculously in the series of secondary cause. So in lame man’s terms he is saying that science cannot disprove religion. There is no science that can show that there is no way that god cannot intervene if he wanted (Craig, W. L. n.d).  One of Plantina’s points in this book to atheist is that just because science can be the proof to the creation of life that doesn’t mean that god did not have his hand in the creation guiding that creation. Atheists believe that the science is what created us. And the creation of man and life was guided by god being the belief of Christians.      2) Richard Dawkins is an unapologetic, often harsh atheist. He is also a world renowned evolutionary biologist. He opens up one of his books saying  “Intelligent life on a planet comes of age when it first works out the reason for its own existence. If superior creatures from space ever visit earth, the first question they will ask, ‘Have they discovered evolution yet?'” (Dawkins, 1976, p1). Dawkins is a firm believer that we arose through evolution by natural selection as proposed by Charles Darwin over one-hundred and fifty years ago. Dawkins equates God as to nothing more than a placebo that people have used as a superficial answer to questions on are existence. He states that God does exist “if only in the form of a meme with high survival value, or infective power, in the environment provided by human cultural” (1976, p193). Dawkins does not see any relation in religion and science. He thinks that the only reason the idea of a god exists is because people did not have another plausible way to explain existence or other deep questions. In Dawkins’ book “A River Out of Eden” he also talks about the incompatibility of nature and God. He uses our innate ability to find purpose in everything by comparing what the cheetah and antelope were “designed” for. The cheetah with its speed, claws, and teeth were made to kill antelope he says. However, the antelope has adaptations that work the exact opposite, to not be killed by cheetahs. Which he says its “as though cheetahs had been designed by one deity and antelopes by a rival deity” (Dawkins, 2008, 9 105). However, he says it does not matter whether you think it was one deity or multiple because they are both wrong. The only purpose is survival of each species DNA unto the next generation and so on.   

 For this assignment, create a slide deck or written brief that addresses the following 5 topics:  Frame the problem. Utilize your work from Assignment 1 for this topic. Consider incorporating feedback from faculty into your document. Guiding Questions: What is the problem, clearly stated? What are the key variables you will need to study? Who is the stakeholder and what decision will they make based on the analysis results? What are the multiple ways you might solve this problem? 1.There is some controversy in literary criticism as to what constitutes a male or female aesthetic. Look back at the stories we have read that deal with girls and boys from the perspective of male and female writers. Do you think there is a distinct difference in the way male and female authors communicate theme, characterization, plot, or style or would you say that while there are differences, these are ARTISTIC choices rather than a matter of discourse gender identity.
2.Poe is credited with being one of the best writers of suspense in English. Assess the plot, setting, characterization, and style of Cask of Amontillado and decide how you would characterize the quality of suspense in this story. How does Poe achieve an emotional response from the reader?
3.The Meyer text includes a section on The Literature of the South (432). Pick an article from this section and test the authors assertions against your reading of Poe, Faulkner, and/or OConnor.
4.Faulkners A Rose for Emily is both an example of suspense and irony, two very different effects. How does Faulkner manage to achieve both in this story? You may want to consider narrative frame and perspective as well as setting, characterization, and style.
5.Flannery OConnor is rather difficult to characterize as a writer. One might say that this is because she combines symbolism and realism so effectively. Pick at least one of her stories and analyze how these two different perspectives on events create either structural and thematic unity or a rather shocking sense of disconnection that could be termed grotesque.
6.The traditional epic focuses on the heros exploits on the battlefield. So why does Hemingway choose to tell the story of The Great War from the perspective of an average soldier who has returned to an ordinary home? What does he gain or lose by the narrative design of Soldiers Home?
7.OBrien models How to Tell a True War Story on Hemingways Soldiers Home. Which would you judge to be the superior story? You should base your criteria for judgment on narrative perspective, plot design, prose style, and theme and perhaps social relevance.
8.In an excerpt from a letter published in Meyer, Anton Chekhov defends his literary technique of objectivity and says that he does not offer a subjective moral judgment of his characters because the image would become blurred and the story will not be as compact as all short stories out to be. When I write, I reckon entirely upon the reader to add for himself the subjective elements that are lacking in the story (205).How does Chekhovs insistence on objective exactitude work in his portrait of the adulterous lovers in The Lady with a Pet Dog?
9.Both Fay Weldon and Dagoberto Glib adopt an ironic perspective on love in their stories. Which writers portrait of love as manipulation rather than romance is more successful? Which writer uses integrates setting, theme, and character most effectively?
10.In his introduction to the central character in To Build a Fire, Jack London describes him as a man without imagination (519). You task:

In professional and academic situations, proposals are often used as a way to plan larger projects, but also to gain support for them (in the form of money, institutional legibility, and other resources). As such, a successful proposal situates the author as credible and the project as both feasible and valuable.

In the context of your genre project, you will be required to submit a 3-5 page proposal in order to frame your thinking about it. For this part of the project, I will be your audience, and your overall goal is to convince me that your project presents an effective way of reaching your chosen audience through a particular genre and publishing venue. Your proposal will involve the following:

What are you trying to achieve through this project? This section presents an overview of your scene, topic, genre, audience, and publishing venue. It should give a comprehensive context for your piece, and include the stakes (why this project matters), and why it is important for you to undertake the project.

This sections of your proposal should make a convincing argument about why this project is important for you to complete.

Audience analysis

Once youve determined what scene youd like to respond to, youll need to get to know the audience youre targeting. What age group are they in? What are their interests? How do they typically get their information? Once youve determined what your audience is like, what rhetorical strategies will you use to target them?

This section of your proposal should make an argument about why those rhetorical strategies are appropriate for your audience.

Publishing venue analysis

In order to make the link between your genre piece and your audience more literal, youll need to determine what publishing venues are appropriate to reach your audience. How do the authors of different genres in your scene reach their audience? Through the newspaper? Putting up flyers? Word of mouth? Speeches? Song lyrics? The radio? Film screenings? Leaving brochures in an office or a coffee shop? Posting a web page? Sending a message out on a listserv?

This section of your proposal should make an argument about why this publishing venue is the best way to reach your chosen audience through your chosen genre.

Chapter 2 literature review: Explaining definition of millennials as a whole explaining why millennials is a potential generation on buying goods. reviewing millennial generational charateristics

further- Bringing out China explaining some previous politics such as Tiananmen and sealed policy system to the outside world One child policy (i want to explain some limitations of chinese people such as blocked facebook, too many fake goods etc)
and explaining why chinese consumer is a potential market ( high spending power) and
Further- reviewing consumer behaviour and charateratics of chinese millennials as China has tier 1 tier 2 and tier 3 cities, and behaviour of them are varies. (logo bearing, authenticity of goods )
Chapter 3 Methodology I will need to interviews and survey, i have already done a survey but i will need a day or 2 to collect enough data , and interview i currently don’t have as i have based in the UK and theres limitation to interview people in china, i could get 2 interviews of chinese speaker employees who work at saint laurent paris and Gucci as i know they are heats in china and to chinese millennial.
Chapter 4 & 5 analysis and discussions of my literature review and findings
Chapter 6 conclusion and recommendation (try to answer most of the objectives on chapter one and recommendation (i have no idea yet)
