Discussion response to a post about Strategies to Promote Evidence-Based Curriculum Design

Project description
This is for a grad nursing education course. APA, references within 5 years, no books, only journals. I need doi/url so I can access. Supportively respond to post: Rapid changes in healthcare and technology have shown how nurse educators must keep up with evidence-based practice to educate their students. The educator is responsible for producing nurse graduates who will be competent, compassionate, have critical thinking skills, and foster patient safety with professional standards. The failure of a nursing curriculum to provide these qualifications should look at overhauling the whole nursing program.
As I think about ways to ensure faculty are engaged in evidence-based curriculum change, I believe that a continuous curriculum review is necessary. Many schools of nursing only review their curriculum before accreditation every five years. A school that continuously reviews their curriculum has faculty who are constantly looking at the evidence-based practices of their specialty area that will lead to a school staying on the leading edge to benefit students, the community, and society. The school that does not review its practices may have gaps in content or skills taught (Billings & Halstead, 2012). Continuous curriculum review provides a data-informed process for quality improvement of the curriculum, ensuring that issues with delivery affecting the student experience are rapidly identified and addressed.
Evidence-based guidelines in a school’s core curriculum will be successful in producing a graduate nurse who is ready to perform. Continuous review of one’s curriculum through a curriculum committee, student surveys after each course, and faculty involvement will update nursing curricula to produce nurses who are capable of taking care of the demands our healthcare today (Faison & Montague, 2013).
Original question:Think about an example of a need to change college nursing curriculum. What was the reason for the need and what type of evidence based change was used?

Threats & Countermeasures Project Presentation

Project description
Identify and explain three specific 21st century security threats discussed “anywhere” in our textbook. Secondly, identify and relate countermeasures (security strategies, tactics, countermeasures, etc.) to prevent and/or mitigate the specific threats.

Explain each of your three threats in three separate project sections (one for each threat). Each threat section of your project must be concisely titled with the name of the threat (e.g. Insider Threats; Perimeter Threats; etc.). Following each threat section, a detailed and “titled” countermeasures sub-section must be included. Each countermeasure should be a third level sub-heading. For example, ABC Threat (heading), Countermeasures (sub-heading), and then each specific countermeasure (third level sub-heading).
Mandatory Project Format (sequence and specific headings):

Slide 1:
Title slide (similar to an APA title page – title, name, date, etc., but no running head)
Slide 2:
Introduction
Slide 3
Threat #1 Title a specific “threat” (e.g., Insider Cyber Threats do use threat #1 or Insider Cyber “Security” – “security” is not a threat; be concise and ensure “Threat is in the title). Do not use locations, vulnerabilities or some other type of general research topic. Ensure each threat is specific (e.g., employee theft threats, commercial robbery threats, airline terrorism threats, cargo theft threats, insider cyber threats, etc.) and not broad/general threats (e.g., internal threats, external threats, terrorism threats, transportation threats, cyber threats, etc.).

Countermeasures (general introduction to your specific countermeasures to follow)
Specific Countermeasure (security strategy, tactic, etc. specific to the identified/discussed threat)
Specific Countermeasure (continue for as many countermeasures you have identified)
Threat #2
Countermeasures (general introduction to your specific countermeasures to follow)
Specific Countermeasure (security strategy, tactic, etc. specific to the identified/discussed threat)
Specific Countermeasure (continue for as many countermeasures you have identified)
Next Slide to as necessary
Threat #3

Countermeasures (general introduction to your specific countermeasures to follow)
Specific Countermeasure (security strategy, tactic, etc. specific to the identified/discussed threat) Specific Countermeasure (continue for as many countermeasures you have identified)

Next Slide
Conclusion (title this section Conclusion) Common point loss for those who omit this slide.

Final Slide/s
References: Use a minimum of six “outside” (non-textbook) credible sources to support your research project. Your final slide will be titled References. Recall to adhere to the APA for reference formatting: alphabetize (common point loss), only first initials for first names (common point loss), double space references, use a second/third line 0.5 hanging indent, References must have matching in-text citations in the body of your project (and vice versa). Do “not” list only electronic links/websites.

Length Requirements: Each threat and countermeasures section must be a minimum of three slides; maximum of four slides.

Most points awarded will be derived from the countermeasures portion of project. Therefore, the threat portion of each section should be short with the majority of each section addressing how to counter (deter/prevent and/or mitigate) the specific threat.

Do “not” use contractions (don’t, isn’t, etc.) or “I,” “me,” “you,” “we,” and “her/him” in academic writing. Avoid “crowding” slides with too much content (words, generally).

Enhance slides with data (charts, graphs, etc.) and professional graphics (images, diagrams, etc.) and “some” color to make it more content rich and visually appealing.

contemporary short fiction analysis essay

Project description
Objective: The purpose of this essay is deep analysis of contemporary science fiction with an eye toward the history of the form. You can examine theme (futurism, gender, humanity to name a few), structure, style, interpretation, or any other area of analysis that appeals to you. In addition, you may also use any of the stories from class to help you in your analysis of a contemporary story, but the focus must remain on the contemporary tale.

Requirements:

Choose a contemporary story (or stories) from the following websites:

Apex Magazine, http://www.apex-magazine.com/ (Links to an external site.)

Clarkesworld Magazine, http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/ (Links to an external site.)

Escape Pod, http://escapepod.org/ (Links to an external site.)

Strange Horizons, http://www.strangehorizons.com/ (Links to an external site.)

Tor, http://www.tor.com/stories (Links to an external site.)

All of these magazines represent some of the premier online short fiction (just be sure to choose a work that is a short fiction piece and not an excerpt from a larger work. Excerpts are clearly marked).

You are required to incorporate three (3) critical resources that MUST come from the library or library databases. No web sources will count toward this requirement. Our databases include several academic journals that discuss science fiction, such as Science Fiction Studies and Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts. In addition, we also have access to several books (physical and online) concerning SF as well as other resources in the various Literature and Humanities databases.

Think of these sources as expert witnesses. They will help you establish the angle you are discussing. For example, if you talk about an element such as robots, you could incorporate a critical resource that makes a salient point concerning that subject to help support your overall analysis.

Use MLA for all formatting and citations. There are examples in the textbook for formatting, or you can review Purdue OWL (Links to an external site.).

Some important tips about writing academic essays:

Course essays should be formal. Formal essays should avoid the following qualities:

Conversational tone

Use of personal pronouns referring to the writer or reader of the essay (I, me, you, your, us, we, our)

Contractions (spell out all contractions)

Web-based resources (Wikipedia, general websites, Sparknotes, or similar websites)

Proofreading errors (be sure to spell check)

Remember: Summary and Analysis are two different things. Dont confuse the two for this essay. I dont want a summary of each story. Assume that I have read both and focus on analyzing the qualities of the stories. Here is a quick resources about the difference between the summary and analysis: http://comptalk.fiu.edu/analysis_v.htm (Links to an external site.)
stories that we have read in class were from these books: Ray Bradbury the martian chronicles, Issac Asimov I robot, and masterpieces orson scott card
professors name is Matthew Masucci and the class is Lit2020

Project description
This assignment is for my Travel and Tourism Management class. The assignment consists of three questions. You should write a 250 word essay for each. I will have an in class final exam in a few days. I will have to answer these questions in the exam so I want to get it done before the exam so I can memorize them. Please keep in mind that the professor gave these questions so we could study the topics and be prepared to answer the questions in the exam. So it should be something you can do during the in class exam, like you shouldn’t use a lot of statistics, citations and so on. And try to make it clear so I can memorize them well. I will write the professor’s instructions as well. This exam is very important for me, it’s worth %45 of total grade, so please do your best. Thank you in advance.

Instructions:

In preparation for your Final Exam, review the following topics and be prepared to write a 250 word essay for each. Your responses should include relevant examples and are expected to be thorough and well reasoned yet succinct.

Question 1. As we discussed, the airline industry is a critical economic engine, not only for the USA, but increasingly globally. Reflecting on the video’s we watched and the technological evolution we reviewed from the development of the Concorde- Super Sonic Transport cutting the travel time from New York to London/Paris in half, to the development of the Super Jumbo, the Boeing 747 doubling the number of passengers that could be transported across oceans to today’s Boeing 787, the most eco-and pax friendly commercial aircraft to be mass produced, how have these developments in air travel affected the tourism industry?

2. Disney is the quintessential example when discussing the attractions and entertainment category in the tourism industry. Discuss, the impact Disney has had upon the tourism industry. Using Butler’s Model, IF you were to plot Disney’s history along his Tourism Life Cycle Analysis, TALC, where would Disney be today and where is it going?

3. A cruise ship embodies many of the aspects of the tourism industry, e.g., transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, attractions and entertainment, plus the opportunity to visit heritage and eco-tourism destinations. Describe the impact the cruise industry has had upon the tourism industry.

3. Paul McCartney is going strong. His most recent album was well-received and he gave an impressive performance at the Grammy’s to support it. Find and listen to a recent recording or performance by McCartney. How do you think he has managed to keep his career moving forward since the Beatles? Do you think an artist should stop performing once the band breaks up? Why or why not? Do you think he is still a great performer? Why or why not?
Be sure to tell us what you listened to.

Using your own example, discuss the development and ideological effects of a moral panic.

Key reading
Hall, Stuart, Critcher, Chas, Jefferson, Tony, Clarke, John, and Roberts, Brian, Policing the
Crisis: Mugging, the State, and Law and Order (Macmillan, 1978), 1-18.
Points for discussion
1. Can you think of some examples of moral panics in our society? What are they concerned with? How are they formed?
2. What role do moral panics play in securing popular support for dominant values and policies? What is the role of the media in both instigating and combating moral panics?
3. Do the media reflect the dominant morality or do they also shape it?
4. How should cultural studies respond to these moral panics?
5. Does cultural studies have a duty? Is the concept of responsibility important for cultural studies students and scholars?

critically discuss the effectiveness of the state contribution to the development/ maintenance of cultural and hertiage assets of significance to the tourism sector

Project description
This assessment comprises 2 parts:
A 1500 word analysis of the role of the state in supporting a particular aspects of tourism development in Crete, Greece. See below for choice of titles), Which will synthesise fieldwork data collected by you and your other group members and key literature.
+ And a 1500 critical reflection on the deployment of the three key primary data collection methods (Observation,Mirco interviews, and the questionaire surveys), which engages with key methodological issues/ challenges that were encountered whilst in the field( Including Ethics and triangluation). Again you are requried to draw on key literature to support your observations/ discussions.
The title that ive chosen to analysis is Critically discuss the effectiveness of the state contribution to the development/ maintenance of cultural and hertiage assests of signifcance to the tourism sector.
Failure to collect the required volume of data and to keep a detailed , systematci record of your thoughts, observation and mirco – interview data while on the field trip will put students at a significant disadvantage when it comes to producing the Experiential learning narrative.
MARK SCHEME:
Conponent one of the grading criteria for part one
1) directly address your chosen title
2)draw substantively on the data you (and your group) collected
3)Engage with the key conceptual issues
4)Draw on RELEVANT LITERATURE
5) present clear,consise conclusions/ recommendations
this first section will lead itself towards a more essay structure type layout with mininal suheading.
Part two might draw more heavily on subheadings(observations,mirco-interviews,questionaire surveys, ethics, triangulation.
Part two comprise of marking scheme AS:
1) Critically reflect on your deployment of the 3 key methods of primary data collection) A Descriptive summary will not put you in a good position to compete for a good grade.
2) Engage with key issues/challenges you encountered when collecting/ analysing your data (Including Ethics, TRIANGULATION)
3) DRAW ON RELEVANT LITERATURE
The experiential learning narrtive is learning via, epereience .
It is also 35% of the total module grade
I will be able to assist the writer in providing the sources required such as photos of surveys, mirco interviews and observational notes , recording that should layout out in a table on be used in a picture format.
I will also provide links to key literature sources, presentation from my lecturer of what the work should like and the structure.
